FAQs

How is a Nordkapp® heater different from a typical low-cost diesel heater?

European type approval

Nordkapp® Air and Cube road-vehicle heaters are engineered and laboratory-tested to the applicable UN ECE R122 and R10 requirements. Current approval documents are available on our Documents page.

Type approval is only one part of a compliant installation: the heater must also be installed according to its instructions and the applicable national, inspection and vehicle-specific requirements.

Control options

Control options vary by model. Gen 3 Air and Cube heaters are available with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth or GSM 4G + Bluetooth control, while every version can also be operated from its physical control panel.

Warranty and support

Nordkapp® heaters include a 24-month warranty, with a 36-month warranty in Spain. Spare parts and support are available in Europe.

Installation components

Nordkapp® heater kits use purpose-selected fuel lines and installation components for the relevant heater model.

Quieter operation

Nordkapp® Air and Cube Gen 3 heaters include the SuperSilent™ fuel pump, designed to reduce the repetitive ticking noise associated with a conventional diesel-heater dosing pump.

What does ECE R122 type approval mean for a diesel heater?

UN ECE R122 covers vehicle heating systems and combustion heaters. A type-approved heater has been tested against the applicable requirements of the regulation.

For a compliant road-vehicle installation, the heater model and installation must also meet applicable national, inspection and vehicle-specific requirements. Current Nordkapp® approval documents are available on our Documents page.

What is the Difference Between GSM and Bluetooth Control in Diesel Heaters?

Can I homologate a Nordkapp® heater in Spain?
