Fuel is drawn from the vehicle’s fuel tank or a compatible separate tank.
Understanding air heating
What is a diesel air heater?
A diesel air heater warms the interior air of your vehicle or boat without relying on the engine for heat. It burns a small amount of diesel in a sealed combustion chamber, while the vehicle’s 12 V or 24 V electrical system powers the fan, fuel pump and controls.
The sealed combustion chamber heats the heater’s heat exchanger.
A fan circulates interior air across the heat exchanger and distributes warm air through the ducting.
An air heater warms cabin air directly. A liquid heater heats the vehicle’s coolant or water circuit.
Correct installation is essential: combustion air and exhaust gases must remain separated from the heated cabin air.
Gen 3 highlights
Quieter installation. Smarter control.
Gen 3 combines practical upgrades for quieter, more comfortable everyday heating — with a choice of Bluetooth or Wi-Fi + Bluetooth control.
New for Gen 3
Upgraded silent exhaust system
Gen 3 includes a larger muffler, flexible and extension exhaust pipes, improved clamps and heat-resistant fittings. The upgraded system is designed to reduce exhaust noise, vibration transfer and installation resonance.
Included with every Gen 3
SuperSilent fuel pump
Less ticking. More comfort.
The included SuperSilent fuel pump is designed to reduce the repetitive ticking noise associated with conventional diesel-heater fuel pumps, helping create a quieter installation.
“nice and quiet, unlike other Chinese heaters.”
Durable aluminium housing
A robust, heat-resistant aluminium heater body designed for demanding vehicle, campervan and marine use.
Turbo mode
Need warmth quickly? Turbo mode prioritises fast heat output to warm the space sooner.
Ventilation mode
Circulate air without combustion heating — useful for warmer days or helping refresh a damp interior.
Optional accessory
Optional Thermo Link remote & thermostat
Compatible with the Wi-Fi + Bluetooth versionThermo Link is optional — the heater works without it. It offers remote control when the compatible heater is connected to Wi-Fi. Its built-in wireless thermostat can also measure the local temperature in the space where it is placed, such as inside a tent while the heater is outside.
Road-legal approval
Road-legal approval that also matters for insurance
Nordkapp Air holds ECE R122 type approval for vehicle heating systems and ECE R10 approval for electromagnetic compatibility. These approvals are legally required for vehicle heaters installed in Europe.
Legal compliance
Installing a vehicle heater without the required approvals is not legal.
Insurance risk
An unapproved heater can create an insurance risk.
Correct installation still matters
Type approval does not replace correct installation.

Questions before you order
Is this heater road legal in Europe and the UK?
Yes. Nordkapp Air Gen 3 is supplied with ECE R122 and ECE R10 approvals for vehicle use. Installation must follow the applicable instructions and local requirements.
Can I use the heater without a smartphone or internet connection?
Yes. Every version can be operated directly from its physical control panel.
Bluetooth control does not require an internet connection. The Wi-Fi + Bluetooth version uses Wi-Fi when remote internet control is required. The GSM 4G + Bluetooth version also includes Bluetooth for nearby control and uses the mobile network for remote operation. A separate SIM card and mobile-network service are required for GSM remote control.
Which altitude version should I choose?
Normal altitude is intended for use up to 2,500 m. High altitude is intended for use up to 5,500 m and is a practical choice if you travel in higher regions or want greater flexibility for a future owner.
Who can install a Nordkapp heater?
You can install it yourself if you have suitable practical skills and follow the installation instructions. A caravan workshop, vehicle service centre or registered Nordkapp installer can also fit the heater.
Does the GSM version include a SIM card?
No. The GSM 4G + Bluetooth version requires a separate SIM card and mobile-network service from an operator for GSM remote control. The SIM card is not included. The Nordkapp mobile app itself is free.
