What size diesel heater do I need?

Choose the output according to the heated volume, insulation and lowest expected temperature. A 2 kW heater is a strong starting point for many small or medium vans, boat cabins and compact well-insulated spaces. Choose 5 kW for larger volumes or regular cold-weather use, and consider 8 kW for large spaces or demanding Nordic winter conditions.

Can I use the heater without Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or a phone?

Yes. Every Nordkapp® heater works directly from its physical control panel. You can start, stop and adjust it without Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a mobile network, a phone or an app. Wireless control is an optional additional way to operate the heater.

What is the difference between Bluetooth, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth and GSM 4G?

Bluetooth is for local control near the heater. A Wi-Fi + Bluetooth model can be controlled from anywhere when the heater is connected to an internet-enabled Wi-Fi network. GSM 4G provides remote control through the mobile network and requires an active compatible SIM card and mobile coverage.

Are Nordkapp® diesel heaters road legal in Europe and the UK?

Yes. Nordkapp® road-vehicle heater models are independently laboratory-tested and certified to UN ECE R122 for combustion-heater safety and R10 for electromagnetic compatibility. These product approvals provide the certified foundation required for a road-legal vehicle installation in the EU and UK.

The heater must still be installed according to its instructions and all applicable national, inspection and vehicle-specific requirements.

Why should I choose a certified diesel heater?

A diesel heater burns fuel and must be suitable for its intended installation. For road vehicles, UN ECE R122 addresses combustion-heater safety and R10 addresses electromagnetic compatibility. An uncertified heater can prevent inspection or registration and may create problems with authorities or insurance.

Who can install a Nordkapp® heater?

You can install the heater yourself if you have practical hands-on skills and follow the installation manual carefully. Vehicle installations can also be completed by a caravan workshop or vehicle service centre experienced with diesel heaters. For boats or fixed spaces, use an installer familiar with the application and local requirements. Our European network includes more than 300 registered Nordkapp® installers and service points.
